4. Plan to have utilities turned on prior to moving
People sometimes overlook small, but important details such as switching utilities over to the new location prior to moving in. Getting everything moved into a new home only to not have lights or even internet service can be a great inconvenience. Therefore, it is important to ensure all loose ends have been tied with utility companies at least a couple weeks in advance of the move.
